The Municipality of Žužemberk and Resalta are continuing the green transformation process through a public-private partnership model. We have therefore renewed the contract for the period 2023-2028, through which we will continue to provide wood biomass heat to the Primary School of Žužemberk. The switch of the Primary School of Žužemberk to wood biomass has helped to reduce CO2 emissions by 116 tonnes per year, while it has empowered the local economy by producing its own wood biomass within the municipality.
Jože Papež, Mayor of Žužemberk, said:
"The Municipality of Žužemberk attaches great importance to the transition to renewable energy sources. Just one look around the green surroundings of our municipality shows that there is no shortage of biomass in the local environment. This biomass is also needed to run the boiler house of the Primary School of Žužemberk and as such provides an additional source of income for the landowners in Žužemberk, while it also preventing the overgrowth of the green landscape."
Luka Komazec, Resalta’s CEO, said:
